Senior TSS students using InvertiGro indoor farming system for experimental investigations

09 September 2024

Our senior ag students are working hard to grow micro herbs in the InvertiGro indoor farming system in time for house suppers as well as another crop of basil and coriander!

So far this year, the school kitchen has been supplied with cabbages, broccoli and herbs from our outside garden which is also growing grafted citrus and apple trees, grapes, mulberries and lots of other vegetables, using a integrated cover crop system - an incredible result and lesson for students in agriculture and how technology can be used in the future of farming.

Students will continue growing plants next term for their plant trials and investigating and working on innovations for indoor farming on campus.

The InvertiGro vertical farm system was generously donated by the Statham family to inspire students into agriculture - the technology students have also been using the farming system within the curriculum for experimental investigations.
